    Global Maritime Data API Documentation

Official ShipFinder API documentation covering AIS, voyage, history, prediction, meteorology, and event datasets for real-time vessel tracking and maritime intelligence integration.

    Welcome to ShipFinder API#

ShipFinder API provides a unified gateway to the world’s most comprehensive maritime data. Whether you are building a real-time fleet monitoring dashboard, conducting historical trade analysis, or integrating predictive intelligence into your logistics platform, our APIs deliver the accuracy, speed, and coverage you need.
This documentation is your complete reference for every endpoint, parameter, and response model. Use it to explore available datasets, test queries, and seamlessly embed maritime intelligence into your applications.

    What You Can Build#

Live Fleet Tracking – Monitor vessel positions, movements, and status worldwide with sub-second latency.
Port & Terminal Awareness – Retrieve real-time berth and anchorage data, expected arrivals, and historical port call records.
Predictive Analytics – Compute optimal point-to-point routes, port-to-port voyages, and accurate ETAs powered by machine learning.
Safety & Compliance Monitoring – Access global cyclone tracks, tide predictions, marine weather, and regional navigational warnings (including China coastline alerts).
Event-Driven Automation – Subscribe to push events for vessel arrivals, speed alerts, geofence breaches, AIS signal loss, STS operations, and dynamic ETA changes.
Historical Investigations – Replay vessel tracks, analyze ship-to-ship meetings, and audit port call histories at scale.

    API Dataset Overview#

Our API is organized into seven core datasets. Each dataset contains multiple endpoints designed to answer specific maritime questions.

    1. AIS Dataset – Real-Time Vessel Positioning#

Access the global AIS feed to locate, identify, and filter vessels.
    EndpointDescription
Vessel PositionRetrieve the latest known position for a specific vessel (IMO, MMSI, or name).
Vessel SearchSearch for vessels by name, call sign, MMSI, or IMO.
Vessels NearbyFind all vessels within a defined radius of a coordinate.
Vessels in ZoneList all vessels currently inside a custom geofence polygon.
Vessel Flag InformationGet registration details, flag state, and vessel identity records.

    2. Voyage Dataset – Port & Voyage Intelligence#

Bridge the gap between vessel movements and port operations.
    EndpointDescription
Port InformationLook up port details, UN/LOCODE, coordinates, and time zone.
Currently Berthed VesselsList all vessels currently docked at a port.
Currently Anchored VesselsList all vessels at anchor within a port’s anchorage areas.
Inbound / Expected ArrivalsRetrieve upcoming arrivals with predicted ETA and last reported position.

    3. History Dataset – Replay & Analyze Past Activities#

Deep-dive into historical vessel behaviour and port usage.
    EndpointDescription
Vessel History TrackFetch a vessel’s position history for a selected time window.
Ship-to-Ship (STS) EventsDiscover historical rendezvous and cargo transfer operations.
Vessel Port Call HistoryGet a timeline of all port calls made by a vessel.
Vessel Port Call Records at Specific PortView detailed call logs when a vessel visited a particular port.
Vessel Current Port CallRetrieve information about a vessel’s ongoing port stay.
Port Calls Records for PortList all recent arrivals and departures for any given port.

    4. Prediction Dataset – Route & ETA Intelligence#

Calculate voyages and arrivals before they happen.
    EndpointDescription
Point-to-Point Route PlanningGenerate the optimal sea route between two coordinates.
Port-to-Port Route PlanningPlan a complete voyage including pilot stations, traffic lanes, and standard port rotation.
ETA QueryPredict arrival time at a destination based on current position and voyage parameters.

    5. Meteorology Dataset – Environmental Intelligence#

Integrate weather and ocean conditions into your operational decisions.
    EndpointDescription
Global Tropical CycloneRetrieve active cyclone tracks, wind radii, and forecast cones.
Global Port Tide PredictionsGet tide height forecasts for thousands of ports worldwide.
Global Marine WeatherAccess wind, wave, current, and visibility data at any coordinate.

    6. China Region Coastline Warning Dataset#

Specialized warnings for maritime safety in Chinese waters.
    EndpointDescription
China Region Navigational WarningsRetrieve official navigational alerts, hazards, and safety broadcasts for the China coastline.

    7. Event Dataset – Push-Based Maritime Streams#

Build reactive, event-driven applications with real-time push notifications.
    EndpointDescription
Monitored Fleet ManagementCreate and manage custom vessel watchlists.
Geofence Monitoring PushReceive alerts when vessels enter or exit defined zones.
Vessel Speed Alert PushGet notified when a vessel exceeds or drops below a speed threshold.
Real-time Vessel Position PushStream continuous position updates for selected vessels.
Arrival/Departure Event PushReceive instant push messages for port arrivals and departures.
Vessel Dynamic ETA PushMonitor ETA changes in real time as voyage conditions evolve.
Vessel AIS Signal Loss Event PushDetect and alert when a vessel stops transmitting AIS.
Vessel STS Event PushGet live alerts for ship-to-ship meetings as they occur.

    Getting Started#
